The humble beginnings of St. Patrick church began on March 17, 1857 when Father Patrick Henneberry, Society of the Precious Blood, came to the Glynnwood area to offer Mass for the Irish settlers. Fr. Henneberry celebrated Mass in the homes of local residents. With generous donations offered, Fr. Henneberry initiated the construction of a new framed church and in 1862 it was dedicated with the name of St. Thomas. In 1876, Fr. Joseph Lutz took over the parish as the first diocesan pastor and built the first rectory. He became the first priest to reside at Glynnwood. In 1880 at the request of parishioners, Fathers of the Society of the Precious Blood were once again in charge. In the same year, the parish had grown largely and even though an addition had been made to the church in 1873, it was still inadequate to meet the needs of the recent and projected growth. Additional land was purchased and in 1883 the cornerstone of the present church was laid. The new church was dedicated on April 27, 1884 with the name St. Patrick. Today, St. Patrick remains an active Parish.
St. Patrick remains an active parish of the Archdiocese of Cincinnati with 400 registered families. On July 1, 2022, St. Patrick along Holy Rosary(St. Marys), Immaculate Conception(Celina), St. Teresa(Rockford), and Our Lady of Guadalupe(Montezuma) joined to form St. Isidore the Farmer, Family of Parishes. Our Family of Parishes is led by Pastor Father Rob Muhlenkamp and Parochial Vicars Father Prashanth Bandanadham and Father Adam Berning.
